Built by Jack Emeny who served his time at Emmerson, Woodbridge. He came to Wyatts of Mersea where he built a number of boats including Jinnie for Edwin Richard Haward, a Mersea Oysterman.
Jinnie remained in the ownership of the Haward family for over 70 years. Edwin’s son Richard (The Company Shed) donated her to the Pioneer Trust at Brightlingsea who have secured a National Lottery Heritage Fund to rebuild Jinnie by the boatbuilding and engineering apprentices.
