29/5/1987 Remeasured as 2grt, 6.66m x2.66m x0.85m. William Baker, a Mersea oysterman worked Mersea Native single handed for nearly 17 years before retiring her off and selling to Simon Gamble ( Golly) who commissioned Gerard Swift who restored her.
Sold to Lars and Nikky Ditchburn in 2009 they have spent many years sailing her in the local MFOB races and Mersea Week. They have employed Gerard Swift over the years to replank her along with other jobs to keep her in amazing condition. In 2025 they passed Mersea Native onto their daughter Isabelle, which is very exciting to see a new generation taking on the care of this heritage workboats.
